Aerial view of Foxton Locks

Aerial view of Foxton Locks, March 2021

Foxton Locks was a great location to practice with my new drone and capture some lovely stills and footage of the locks and surrounding area on a cold and quiet March morning. The site is on the Grand Union Canal in Leicestershire and boasts the longest and steepest staircase locks in the UK with (in normal times) over 4,000 boats passing through the locks each year.

The Mini 2 is a great introduction to drone photography and video, offering RAW files and 4K video. The new drone laws and classifications have shaken things up a little and falling in the A1 category, the Mini 2 allows you to fly almost anywhere outside of exclusion zones (and within the code guidelines of course). It’s proving an excellent addition to my property and building photography and video offer.

Shot using DJI Mini 2 with Freewell ND16/PL filter. Video edited in Final Cut Pro X, pictures in Adobe Lightroom. Flyer ID GBR-RP-Y2TMYZFMF9ZT Operator ID GBR-OP-8CPPSVN99L8T. Insured for commercial use by Coverdrone.
